Prof. Yao is the director of Higher Education Research Center of Northwest University, and the vice director of Higher Education Research and Evaluation Center of Shaanxi Province. She received her Ph.D degree from Northwest University, became a professor in 2013 and Ph.D supervisor in 2014. Her areas of academic specialty are higher education administration, higher education theory and policy analysis, economics of higher education. She has taken more than 20 items of national and provincial projects, published three monographs and more than 30 papers in the core journal of China.
